The CCB Training School in partnership with StoryKiez:
PITCHING YOUR IDEA: Crafting an engaging pitch

Most writers hate it, but pitching is an essential skill for storytellers. This course teaches you not only how to communicate the essence of your story in a way that leaves the listener wanting to know more but also how to enjoy yourself while doing it. A clear, exciting pitch is one of the most important tools to move your project to the next level. So the focus of this class is creating a pitch that doesn’t get lost in the details but exudes your excitement about the project and entices the listener to want to know more.

As with every StoryKiez class, there are three components: – a specific area of creative focus, a piece of work that students will finish by the end of the class, and an end of term event where students, who choose to, can present their work to a receptive audience of family and friends.

The creative focus is helping the student become more comfortable pitching (and maybe even enjoy it!) by demystifying the process. By the end of the class, students will no longer view pitching like oral exams in school but more like sharing with your friends the details of a life changing trip you’re about to embark on.

The piece of work we will be completing in this class is a three to five page document that will serve as a guide to a tight, entertaining and engaging oral pitch. For more info or questions go to storykiez.com

Location: Comedy Café Berlin
Take Away: A pitch document that will serve as a guide to a 5-7 minute oral pitch.
Event: An end of class presentation where every student, who wants to, presents their three-pager to a receptive audience of friends and family. (Event date and location TBD).
