Get to the Fun – An Improv Workshop with Josh Simpson & Jake Jabbour of The MEAT Improv
Saturday, September 22, 2018 | 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

No matter what style of improv you do, the main objective is to get to the fun of your scene and start really playing as quickly as possible. This two-part workshop focuses on 1) finding ways to frame your scenes in a fun way to get on the same page with your scene partner and 2) getting the most fun out of your scenes by making bold moves and truly exploring your ideas.
Josh Simpson and Jake Jabbour both teach and perform at the UCB Theater in Los Angeles. They host a storytelling and improv podcast called The MEAT Improv where comedian guests tell true “meaty” stories from their lives and then improvise off of those stories. They did a 9 city tour across the USA in 2017 where they taught this workshop and performed live shows. They also teach sold out workshops in Los Angeles around these same ideas.
Josh has written for Funny or Die and CONAN and he created the satirical twitter account @BPGlobalPR in 2010 that was very popular for about 2 months.
Jake has a masters degree in education and once put a grape in his butt live on stage.
Josh has a dog. Jake has a cat.
Judge accordingly.
This workshop includes 2 two-hour sessions. Session 1 runs from 12pm – 2pm with Jake Jabbour; Session 2 runs from 3pm – 5pm with Josh Simpson.
